POSTED: 10:31 a.m. EDT, July 4,2007
From January to May, import and export cargo handled by Tianjin Airport rose 16.1 per cent over the same period in the previous year to 44,000 tons.

Its aggregate value grew 34 per cent to US$4.72 billion, Xinhua reported. Air China recently upgraded the daily "airtruck" intermodal service between Tianjin and Beijing to twice a day. The service helps expand airlines' network to cover more destinations.
