Maersk names sixth 11,000-TEU vessel

A ceremony was recently held at the Odense Steel Shipyard in Denmark where the AP Moller-Maersk Group's latest 11,000-TEU container vessel was named the Elly Maersk.

A company statement pointed out that like her five predecessors, the Elly Maersk is one the world's largest container vessels.

The statement added that after delivery the newbuild will be pressed into service by Maersk Line.
