The AP Moller-Maersk Group's ocean shipping arm, Maersk Line, has been named shipping line of the year 2007 by the International Freighting Weekly (IFW) magazine at an award ceremony in London held earlier this month.
The winner was judged by a panel of 200 freight-forwarding and shipping executives selected by IFW subscribers. Maersk Line was honoured by the industry for its continuing improvements in customer service.
Lars Mikael Jensen, chief operating officer of Maersk Line in Greater China, said: "This is a great achievement for Maersk Line and is a clear indication of the good progress made by our people throughout our global business to provide excellent products and services to all our customers."
Maersk Line has more than 500 container ships and over 1.4 million containers worldwide. In Greater China, the shipping line is represented in 44 locations. Globally, the Danish group employs more than 110,000 staff in over 125 countries. |
