Garuda to use Airbus for Beijing-Jakarta from 2010

Indonesian airline PT Garuda Indonesia will upgrade to wide-body Airbus aircraft on its Jakarta-Beijing route from next year onward, from the smaller Boeing aircraft that it currently uses, Dow Jones reported.

"From the start of 2010 the Beijing-Jakarta route, and the return route, will use wide-bodied Airbus aircraft instead of the current Boeing 737 NG," Sentot Mujiono, general manager of Garuda Beijing said.

The number of aircraft of be upgraded has not been specified.
