MOL extends weekly container service to Israel via Damietta

2008-1-18

Japanese shipping giant MOL has announced the launch of new container services to Israel from February 1 extending the run of the East Mediterranean and Black Sea Express Service (EBX) with transshipment at Damietta.

Port2Port, Israel's trade website, said the EBX service provides a fast transit time, improved reliability and represents an important capacity increase for the Mediterranean region.

The weekly service will call at Shanghai, Hong Kong, Yantian, Singapore, and then from Damietta, tranship to the Israeli ports of Ashdod and Haifa, as well as serving Turkish and Black Sea ports on fixed sailing dates.

As part of MOL's strategy to expand coverage into the fast-growing east Mediterranean market, the company has appointed Lucy Borchard Shipping Ltd as general agents in Israel, said Port2Port.
