MOL wants to create the joint venture with Gazprom

MOL (Hungary) has expressed desire to create the joint gas-transport company with the Open Society "Gazprom" for work in the Central and Southeast markets of the Europe.

It is spoken about in the report of Gazprom on the results of the meeting of the chairman of the Board of the company Alexey Miller and the general director of MOL Jolt Hernady according to AK&M.

During the meeting the parties have discussed the results of the project company work on preparation of the project "Southern stream" and other questions of bilateral cooperation in the oil-and-gas sphere.

Russia provides about 80% of natural gases imported by Hungary. In 2006 Gazprom delivered to Hungary 8.7mlrd cube m. of gas.

Company MOL is engaged in oil and gas investigation, extraction, transportation and selling, and also operation of the network of the main gas mains by extent of 5.2 thousand km. In the management of the company the re are over 440 gas stations in Hungary, Slovakia and Romania.

On June, 21st, 2006 Gazprom and MOL have signed the cooperation agreement which provided creation of the design company for preparation of the FEASIBILITY REPORT under the project of creation of the South-European gas main and the system of underground storage of gas (UGS) in the territory of Hungary. For realization of the agreement in 2006 the design company SEPCO with parity participation of Gazprom and MOL has been created and registered in Hungary, and also its operating committee is generated.
