MOL opens St Petersburg office to expand Russian operations

2007-12-18

Mitui OSK Lines (MOL) president Akimitsu Ashida has announced the December 5 opening of an office in St. Petersburg.

MOL has designated Russia as an important growth market where it expects development and expansion of its businesses. It first opened offices in Moscow and Vladivostok in June 2005.

Both offices have worked to promote and support MOL operations in Russia. They gather information on new businesses including large projects, while building and enhancing relations with Russian government agencies, customers, harbour and port authorities, as well as other shipping companies.

As with the Vladivostok office, the one in St Petersburg, is under the direction of the Moscow office, which is the representative office of MOL's Tokyo headquarters, and is responsible for operations throughout the Russian Federation, though will focus on the St Petersburg area as well as the nearby Baltic states.
