CMA CGM and NYK are making a EUR20 million (US$27 million) investment in a new Duisburg container terminal in hinterland Germany to consolidate and distribute cargo.
CMA CGM, the third-largest container line in the world, and NYK, the largest Japanese shipping group will have its Duisburg-Rheinhausen terminal operating by January 1. It will be called Duisburg Trimodal Terminal (D3T), announced Duisburg Port Authority.
"The world's largest inland container port [Duisburg] is once again growing dynamically," said a port statement.
