Qantas will add three new Boeing 737-800 services a week between Brisbane and Perth from August this year, bringing the total number of weekly services operated on the route to 27.
Qantas sales chief Rob Gurney said the improved schedule and additional flights provided extra capacity and is a direct response to the spike in demand being experienced by the cities of Perth and Brisbane.
"The new schedule that Qantas has developed for services departing Brisbane will appeal to a broad range of traveller with two morning departures, an early afternoon and early evening.
"Departures from Perth back to Brisbane mean that travellers now have a choice of flights at around five-to-seven hour intervals. The last flight at 17.20 hrs will allow them to take advantage of day trips to Rottnest Island.
"The improved schedule for those departing form Perth will appeals to the business traveller. For the first time we are offering a non-stop Perth-Brisbane service, timed for an early morning departure at 07.35 hrs, which we believe will be very popular," said Mr Gurney. |
