Qantas to open second freight terminal in Sydney
POSTED: 10:41 a.m. EDT, May 15,2007

Qantas Freight has announced it will open a second freight terminal from an off-airport location in Sydney from June.

An airline statement declared that the new terminal would allow Qantas Freight to provide faster, more efficient services as import volumes continued to grow.

"The current Sydney freight terminal handles more international air freight than any other in Australia, so addressing congestion and wait times has been a top priority," said Grant Fenn, Qantas manager of associated businesses.

The new off-airport terminal, at Unit 3, 1-3 Burrows Road, Alexandria, NSW, will operate seven days a week and focus on servicing major de-consolidators.
