Nanjing throughput to pass one million TEU mark in 2007
POSTED: 8:37 a.m. EDT, September 20,2007
NANJING's container throughput is expected to surpass 1 million TEU by the end of 2007, reports Xinhua.

China's biggest river port expects an annual throughput of 3 million TEU by the end of 2010. It handled 800,000 TEU last year.

Nanjing Port Group said it will now shift focus into containers as income from these operations accounts for 20 per cent of its revenue and is expected to rise to 40 to 50 per cent in coming years.

The port currently has only one Longtan Container Terminal, operated by Nanjing Port Group, Shanghai Port Container Co., Ltd. and Cosco.
