Tianjin port handled 2.74 million TEU in the first five months of this year, representing a growth of 21.5 per cent year on year, Xinhua reported.

The port handled 129 million tons of cargo during the five months, which increased by 22.7 per cent, the report said.

Tianjin, the largest port in North China, is expected to see its cargo throughput breaching 300 million tons and container throughput surpassing 71 million TEU this year, the report added.
