China ports' annual container volume to surpass 100 million TEU
POSTED: 8:47 a.m. EDT, October 16,2007
The aggregate container throughput of the Chinese ports will surpass the 100 million TEU level and reach 117 million TEU by the end of this year. This breaks records for a fifth consecutive year and maintains China's position as the No 1 country in container volume.

As the Chinese government takes this development as an important milestone, the Ministry of Communications has decided to strengthen press coverage and hold a celebration in Tianjin to mark the event at the end of November, said Xinhua.
