Interview with Mr. DAN GUESS, Manager of Packair Airfreight. Inc.

2011-11-28

JCtrans: Hello, Mr. DAN GUESS. Firstly, will you please make a brief introduction of Packair Airfreight, Inc.?

Mr. DAN GUESS: In 1973 William Randazzo had a vision of a freight forwarding company that has endured because of a strong focus on customer service. That tailored approach to Customers' needs continues to this day. From the time of pick-up by Packair personnel or one of Packair's trusted freight partners, to the dedicated crate-building department, to our in-house Customs Brokerage, Dangerous Goods Specialists and Department of State License Specialists, to the finest carriers, then onto the customer's hands, our freight handling is one of our main characteristics which we are proud of. Packair continues to be a leader in the global freight forwarding market with a mixture of longevity, modernization and progress.

JCtrans: Would you please talk about your core-competitiveness?

Mr. DAN GUESS: Providing top drawer service in itself creates a need for expansion. Everyone wants excellent customer service at competitive rates. We searched out agents / business partners throughout the United States and all over the world whose standards matched ours, allowing us to offer this fine level of service coast to coast and border to border.

Packair's strengths overlap into many areas: dangerous goods, film industry shipping, chartering services, Department of State Licensing. But it is Packair's Customer Service that sets us apart as a full-service logistics provider. Whether it's Domestic LTL or AOG Airfreight, Packair has a team of highly experienced freight agents that have handled all angles of the shipping industry with competitive rate structures, with on-hand know-how and precision.

JCtrans: We know Packair has been performing this service for over 30 years. And Packair must have formed its own outstanding Enterprise Characteristics in so many years. So will you please talk about that?

Mr. DAN GUESS: In over 38 years in the freight business, Packair Airfreight has constructed its own standards for success. First among these is one-stop shipping for non-stop shipping. Packair will pick it up, pack it up and ship it out. Signature Custom Crating, Live Customer Service and Dedicated, on-time pick-ups and deliveries are just a few of the services that set Packair apart.

JCtrans: How do you see the logistics industry development in your country?

Mr. DAN GUESS: Logistics in the U.S.A. is depending more and more on the internet, as most business is. Many Los Angeles Freight Forwarders are content with their old world approach to customer relations. While the meet-and-greet handshake approach will never lose its place, Packair has evolved with the times - reaching out to customers and agents worldwide with an ever-expanding internet campaign. This is one of the reasons why Packair has chosen JCtrans as one of our web partners to reach out to customers via the internet who are in need of freight solutions.

JCtrans: In order to make Packair go on developing steadily, what strategic planning do you have for the next 3 or 5 years?

Mr. DAN GUESS: Packair Airfreight has expanded its operation in the recent past, adding NVOCC services in 1999, becoming C-TPAT certified and a fore-runner among certified cargo screening facilities in Los Angeles. We continue to look to the future, stylizing specialized freight service departments and dedicating personnel to the multiple facets of Packair: crating, screening, trucking, special projects and sensitive governmental logistics coordination. As time goes, we are looking forward to making our services even better as before, upgrading security measures and promoting our services through the World Wide Web.
