The EU and UAE have signed an aviation agreement that allows European airlines to fly between the UAE and any EU member state, the bloc's executive said on Tuesday.
The deal scraps nationality restrictions in bilateral air services agreements and acknowledges the existence of the European single market for air transport, the European Commission said in a statement.
"The agreement recognises that airlines in the EU are not any longer national airlines but (European) Community airlines," European Transport Commissioner Jacques Barrot said. |
