Evergreen pledges hurricane support

Evergreen has continued to offer assistance to those affected by the hurricane which swept through southern Taiwan on 8 and 9 August.

The shipping line has donated US$12.7m and group chairman Chang Yung-Fa has personally donated $3m.

He also encouraged other members and partners of Evergreen to help with relief efforts.

In response, Norwegian insurance company Gard, which insures the Evergreen fleet, donated $100,000.

Chang has also called on a foundation he set up to provide assistance and relief support.
