Singapore, US extend acceptance of aeronautical products
POSTED: 9:45 a.m. EDT, September 24,2007

Singapore's Civil Aviation Authority (CAAS) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has signed revised Implementation Procedures for Airworthiness (IPA) that will extend the scope of US acceptance of aeronautical products from the island state.

This comes after the first Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement IPA was concluded between Singapore and the United States in 2004.

The revised IPA is expected to further strengthen technical co-operation between the two aviation authorities. A key highlight of the revision is FAA's acceptance of certain supplemental type certificates (STCs) issued by CAAS on transport aircraft. STC is the certification of a major modification done on an aircraft.
