The big Polish Danone (Fresh Dairy) company has awarded Kuehne + Nagel a contract to handle distribution in south of Poland, which is an extension of an existing contract as the logistics giant already manages the dairy's other distribution centre near Warsaw.
The contract was implemented upon completion of the new ProLogis Park in Chorzow in April 2007 where Kuehne + Nagel manages a 4,000-square metre warehouse Danone has leased in the Katowice area.
Kuehne + Nagel provides goods receiving services, storage, picking, co-packing and just-in-time order preparation. By the end of this year, operations in the chilled warehouse (4 C) will be additionally supported by modern voice-picking technology, thereby enabling high order preparation productivity levels and efficient replenishment processes, said a Kuehne + Nagel statement.
