Kuehne+Nagel has signed a deal with Ingenico, a global provider of electronic payment systems headquartered in France, to manage all of Ingenico's shipments from suppliers to the subsidiaries of the payment terminal vendor within Europe, the Americas and Asia.
Kuehne + Nagel will act as an interface for all international transport-related processes, utilising multi-modal transportation services as well as customs clearance to cover the logistics needs of Ingenico from door-to-door, a company statement said.
"The signing of this contract is a significant milestone for Kuehne + Nagel to further extend its presence in the European high-tech and telecommunications market. We look forward to a long and successful partnership," said Tobias Jerschke, senior vice-president, corporate and business development at Kuehne + Nagel Southwest Europe region.
Owing to the high sensitivity of the items, the majority of shipments will be transported by air. The agreement also includes the management of a 3,000-square-metre warehousing operation in a multi-user facility in Rouen, France from where items are stored, picked, dispatched and delivered by road throughout Western Europe.
