Shahari Sulaiman has been named the new managing director of Malaysia Airlines
Cargo succeeding JJ Ong. Sulaiman was previously general manager cargo operations for MASkargo. Ong will leave the company at the end of August 2007, to take up a senior position with another organisation.
"Under the leadership of Ong, MASkargo achieved record profits last year, surpassing its target of RM150 million. On top of that, he has contributed immensely to building up the cargo business from the first day he took the helm, ̄ commented MAS chief executive officer Datuk Idris Jala.
Sulaiman¨s challenge is to continue the successful leadership of Ong. He has joined Malaysia Airlines in 1985, accumulating 15 years of experience in engineering capacities before joining the cargo subsidiary. He graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Aerospace Engineering.
