Nansha port to accommodate 50,000-tonners with deeper channel

THE channel dredging project of Nansha port will be completed at the end of September this year when the draught will be able to accommodate 50,000 tonne vessels, Xinhua reported.

The channel dredging project deepened the channel of Nansha port from 13.5 to 15.5 metre and widened it from 160 to 230 metres, the report said.



The project was undertaken to support the Nansha Container Terminal's second phase and which will greatly improve its capacity.
