Port of Qinzhou to welcome 100,000 ton vessels in spring 2007

THE Chinese port of Qinzhou expects to complete work on expanding it shipping channel by March 2007.

Xinhua News Agency cited a source from the Qinzhou city government saying the 30.7 kilometre channel will be able to accommodate vessels weighing up to 100,000 tons.

The channel deepening project was launched in February 2004 at a cost of CNY938 million (US$119.83 million).
