The Guangxi Coastal Railway Co., Ltd handled a total of 12.7 million tons of cargo via coastal railways in Guangxi from January to May, an increase of 38.1 per cent.

Sea-rail intermodal cargo nowadays also accounts for a larger percentage of the throughput at Guangxi's seaports.
From 2002 to 2007, cargo transported on these railways grew to 87 million tons. Subsequently, Guangxi Coastal Railway achieved core business revenue of CNY1.96 billion (US$259.1 million) in 2006. |
