SCT introduces IBM technology to improve IT service
POSTED: 10:07 a.m. EDT, October 24,2007

Shenzhen's Shekou Container Terminal (SCT) has introduced a new operational system from IBM to provide better IT services.

The advanced, flexible and stable IT system will provide customers with real-time, customised IT value-added services, said statement from SCT.

The old system could no longer meet the demand imposed by large scale operations and changing customer needs as a result of rapid growth of the's business. SCT therefore decided to adopt the latest IBM P series as its new operational system, a company statement said.

To enhance smooth and efficient operations, SCT also held an operations seminar, which was attended by about 70 managers from major shipping companies in Shenzhen, the statement said.
