Texas-based American Airlines has announced a 17 per cent year-on-year increase in November to 169,203 million ton miles.
The international load factor of 76.8 per cent was 2.1 points lower year-over-year, as traffic increased 1.9 per cent on 4.8 per cent more capacity. Latin American operations posted the highest load factor of 77.4 per cent.
AA Cargo president Jim Butler said November represents its seventh consecutive month of year-on-year growth.
"In fact, the team set a new record in November for the total weight loaded onto one of our 777-300ER aircraft on a flight from New York-JFK to London Heathrow. This momentum combined with the recent merger positions the new American to be a stronger, more successful airline," he said.
American Airlines and US Airways continue to operate as two separate companies, but plans for integrating them are underway.
"While we expect this integration to be complex and to last for quite some time, we're committed to keeping our customers our top priority," Mr Butler said.
American Airlines also continues to outperform major US competitors in monthly and year-to-date cargo traffic, said a company statement.
