Prestigious award win for Dnata

2010-12-22

Dnata has been named Ground Handling Provider of the Year once again at the Aviation Business Awards.
Dnata Airport Operations (DAO) has played a pivotal role in the history of Dubai International Airport since the airport commenced operations 50 years ago. Since that time, Dnata has grown alongside both the airport and Dubai and has successfully met the significant challenges of increasing number of carriers with ever rising passenger numbers.
The award was presented to Dnata managers at a gala dinner at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi. Ismail Ali Albanna, Executive Vice President of Dnata said: "It is a pleasure that the industry has again recognised Dnata as the Ground Handling Provider of the Year in the Middle East and that our customers provided such supportive feedback. This award is important to us as we expand internationally to eight countries and 20 airports. The award recognises the quality of services we provide to our customers and is a tribute to our staff."
The Aviation Business Awards are organised by ITP - the publisher of Aviation Business magazine and ArabianSupplyChain.com - with the aim of honouring leadership and innovation in the regional aviation industry. The win is the third time for Dnata, with previous accolades in this category in both 2007 and 2008. This year, Dnata put in submissions for five different categories, which included Training and Education, Corporate Social Responsibility, Technology Implementation and Unsung Hero of the Year. Four of these other submissions made it to the finals in their category.
