UPS plans to strengthen cooperation with the fashion industry and launch return service and paperless invoice this year, its Hong Kong general manager Leung Kwok Kee announced at a recent local fashion show.
Logistics Week reported Mr Leung said fashion and logistics are closely related with the design, manufacture and transport being a race with time and a short life cycle.
Mr Leung also said UPS is about to launch two new services. One is the world's first green and time-saving paperless invoice system via which customers can send customs clearance documents electronically. The other offering is an international package return service.
Mr Leung said globalisation, fiercer competition and rising operating costs have made UPS think of ways to enhance cost-effectiveness without raising rates.
