UPS launches products for Asian users

2008-1-16

UPS has launched eight products aimed specifically at Asian users to simplify global trade for Asian companies conducting business internationally.

The new services are available in Singapore from this month.

They can be divided into a suite of three services for shipping international air freight, four new customer technology products and a product aimed specifically at pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, as well as hospitals and medical labs.

The consumer technology products come out of UPS's US$1 billion annual investments in technology and enable 24/7 tracking of customers' parcels more efficiently while cutting down on unnecessary paperwork.

The UPS Clinical Trials product is geared specially for clients who need biological substances transported internationally for clinical tests and research. The logistics market for the global health care industry is estimated at $43 billion.
