UPS to expand express business to triple non-urgent destinations

2008-1-26

EXPRESS industry giant UPS has announced plan to expand its international express operations, Logistics Week reported.

UPS is to widen its network coverage of a service which provides one- to three-day delivery for cargo over 70 kilogrammes. After the expansion, the number of cities covered will triple.

Besides, UPS also plans to launch one- to three-day and three- to five-day airport-to-airport delivery service for non-urgent air cargo over 70 kilogrammes.

Analysts said UPS's decision was made due to weak domestic express business caused by an American economic slowdown.
