Vietnam will set up an international commerce council early next year, which will focus on anti-dumping cases, local newspaper Vietnam Investment Review reported Tuesday.
The council, funded by the Danish International Development Agency under the management of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Global Competitiveness Facility (GDF), will comprise of an advisory board, a technical assistance panel, and a group of experts, lawyers, and business association representatives.
The council will build an online anti-dumping database, offer consultation to enterprises and associations involving dumping cases, and train consultants.
Vietnam, gaining export earnings of 39.6 billion U.S. dollars in 2006, posted export turnovers of over 35.2 billion dollars in the first nine months of this year, a year-on-year rise of 19.4 percent, according to the country's General Statistics Office.
