Vietnam is estimated to earn 8.5 billion U.S. dollars from exporting goods to the European Union (EU) in 2007, a year-on-year rise of 23.1 percent, local newspaper Youth reported Wednesday.
Local exports to the EU is expected to post high growth this year include seafood, woodwork, garments, textiles, rubber products, mechanical goods, electrical home appliances, and information technology items, the paper quoted sources from the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Vietnam earned nearly six billion dollars from selling products to the market in the first eight months of this year.
The country made total export revenues of 39.6 billion dollars in 2006. In the year, the United States remained Vietnam's biggest export market, followed by the EU, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, Japan and China.
