India and China signed here Wednesday an implementation pact on cultural exchange for the year of 2007 to 2009.
The agreement was signed by Indian Minister of Tourism and Culture Ambika Soni and Chinese Cultural Minister Sun Jiazheng.
During the signing ceremony, Sun said "The Sino-Indian cultural exchange has entered a new height," adding that cultural cooperation can further boost bilateral relationship.
Soni said that the two nations will hold interactive work in every field so that the peoples of the two nations get to know each other's culture and lifestyle better.
The two sides believe that through cultural exchanges, two peoples of the two great nations would be connected more closely, they said.
The Sino-Indian cultural exchange pact covers literature, art, archeology and sports among other fields.
