Over the next ten years, Shunyi, a district of Beijing, will spend 22 billion RMB building an international business district near Beijing Capital International Airport. There will be office buildings, shopping centers, restaurants, hotels, gyms and large houses in the area. Development and construction work recently officially began.
The business district will cover an area of approximately 1.5 million square meters; the commercial services area 700,000 square meters; and the area devoted to culture and relaxation 300,000 square meters, bringing the total to roughly 4.5 million square meters.
By 2015, the business district hopes to have attracted between 2000 and 3000 enterprises and as many as 50,000 workers. The total regional GDP is expected to be between 17 billion yuan and 20 billion yuan.
