Zim adds Hong Kong to new Asia/Europe string

2008-4-9

Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. will next week add Hong Kong to its recently started Asia/North Europe East-West Express Service (EWX).

The vessel Zim Genova is scheduled to make the maiden call at Hong Kong on the EWX when it departs the Far East port April 19.

The EWX was launched in mid-January using four ships transferred from its defunct Far East/U.S. East Coast Asia USA Express (AUX) that was operated jointly with Evergreen Line, and two from its Asia Med Pacific (AMP) service.

The service deploys seven ships of 4,250 TEUs and will have a revised port rotation of Shanghai, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Shekou, Port Kelang, Bremerhaven, Tilbury, Antwerp, Le Havre and back to Shanghai.

Zim said it offers a total of seven weekly Asia/Europe services.

Details of the revised EWX service are available from ComPair Data, American Shipper's affiliated database for global liner services, at www.compairdata.com.
