Lufthansa, DHL seek approval to create new freight airline

Deutsche Lufthansa and Deutsche Post World Net subsidiary DHL have filed for approval from the German Federal Cartel Office to set up a joint freight airline, according to the government's web site.

Thomson Financial also reported that Lufthansa Cargo declined to comment and said the company will disclose information on the matter "shortly" while DHL could not be reached.
