SAS Cargo to double Gothenburg air cargo terminal capacity
POSTED: 9:04 a.m. EDT, September 1,2007
SAS Cargo's handling company, Spirit Air Cargo Handling and Nordic Airport Properties, has agreed to expand the existing air cargo terminal at Landvetter airport by 5,000 square metres.

The expansion work is expected to be completed at the end of next year.

"Gothenburg airport is situated strategically very well in the middle of Scandinavia in a highly industrialised region close to Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen. This makes it interesting for many air cargo operators," said Anders Skantz, managing director of Spirit Air Cargo Handling Sweden.

He said that the limited space at the present facility has forced them to reject customers due to lack of space. Mr Skantz said he is looking forward to doubling capacity and expects that more air cargo operators will choose Landvetter as a destination in the future, a statement from SAS Cargo said.

Spirit Air Cargo Handling is the biggest supplier of air cargo handling services in Scandinavia.
