Maximus Air Cargo recently moved a 48-ton load on its Airbus A300-600RF for Cygnus Air, a Spanish cargo airline based at Madrid's Barajas International Airport.
Compared with its rivals, said a company statement, the Abu Dhabi cargo airline's own Airbus A300-600RF has a wider fuselage that allows for 21 main deck pallets and 11.3 cubic metres capacity in industry-standard LD3 containers on its lower deck.
"Carrying outsized air cargo has been Maximus's core business. The recent addition of the A300-600 Regional Freighter has given us increased capability to provide reliable short notice solutions such as airlines, which lack capacity," said Maximus president and CEO Fathi Hilal Buhazza.
The Maximus aircraft flies weekly between Madrid, Las Palmas and Frankfurt, and is available for charter daily out of Madrid.
Established in 2005, the company employs 104 and owns and operates eight specialised all-cargo aircraft, among them, an Antonov AN-124-100 Ruslan, an Airbus A300-600RF, an Ilyushin IL-76TD Candid and a Lockheed L-382 Hercules.
