Hactl airfreight tonnage increases 0.8pc in May

HACTL (Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited) reported that air cargo tonnage at Hong Kong International Airport in May rose 0.8 per cent to 203,434 tonnes compared with the same month last year.
Cumulative tonnage from January to May was 992,679 tonnes, up 0.4 per cent compared with the same period last year.
Export volume in May registered a 1.4 per cent growth year on year to 113,221 tonnes while export aggregate was down 0.3 per cent in the first five months to 548,378 tonnes.
Import volume for May and over the first five months stood at 54,053 tonnes and 270,046 tonnes respectively, down 6 per cent and 2.5 per cent year on year.
Transshipment volume was 36,160 tonnes in May, with a year-on-year growth of 10.7 per cent. Total transshipment volume for the first five months was 174,255 tonnes, up 7.9 per cent against the same period last year. |
