Throughput of Kaliningrad Commercial Seaport up 33.2%, in Jan-Ma

In January-May 2007, Commercial Seaport of Kaliningrad increased troughput by 33.2%, year-on-year to 2.113 million tonnes, the port reports according to RZD-Partner. The port attributes the increase to increase of export to 1.649 million tonnes (+38.4%, year-on-year). In particular, export transshipment of coke and coal grew 2.1 times to 205.3 thou tonnes, heavy fuel oil ¨C by 4.7 times to 188.7 thou tonnes, cast iron ¨C doubled to 284.7 thou tonnes, rolled metal goods ¨C by 20.3% to 617.9 thou tonnes. Transshipment of import cargo grew by 17.6% to 463.5 thou tonnes.
