From May 1, Schenker and BAX Global have merged into a single company in Singapore combining a local workforce of 1,100 under the name of Schenker Singapore (Pte) Ltd.
"This marks the start of a new era. This would not have been possible without the commitment and dedication of our staff, as well as the strong support from our customers and business partners," said the managing director of the new entity, Charlie Kok.
Schenker Singapore provides customised air, ocean and logistics solutions, and specialised services to industries such as aerospace, defence logistics, maritime spares, fairs, exhibitions, healthcare, chemicals, oil and gas projects.
Said Mr. Kok: "Schenker and BAX are two complementary customer-focused organisations that have grown through the years in the Singapore market. Together, our logistics operations cover more than 1.4 million square feet across 13 facilities island-wide."
Schenker and BAX Global are in the process of integrating around the world. The joint organisation has a team of about 55,000 at 1,500 locations in 150 countries. Schenker is a part of DB Logistics, the transportation and logistics division of Deutsche Bahn AG.
