EXPRESS delivery company, TNT Express, has appointed Karel van de Pijpekamp as regional sales and marketing director and Magali Rossi as the director of strategy to drive the company's growth in South East Asia.
TNT's growth strategy will focus on continuing to strengthen intra-Asian and domestic networks, while developing tailored solutions for key vertical industries, such as hi-tech, telecommunications, life sciences, automotive and industrial manufacturing.
"Last year, TNT launched Asia's first road network linking Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. The service has since been a success with our customers, and we have plans to stretch the network into Indochina and China shortly. With an unrivalled integrated road network in Asia, the foundations have been laid for Karel and Magali to develop core strategies and solutions that deploy TNT's extensive infrastructure to achieve our business objectives," said Onno Boots, regional managing director of TNT South East Asia.
In his new role, Mr van de Pijpekamp has been tasked with executing an aggressive sales and marketing strategy across the region. He will also look at expanding the company's portfolio of major clients to include sectors, such as banking, where TNT is increasingly gaining a foothold.
Prior to his current appointment, Mr van de Pijpekamp was the global director for global account development worldwide. He has also held various other positions in sales, and has been with TNT for 11 years, a company statement said.
