Australian coffee expert teams up with Kuehne + Nagel
POSTED: 9:34 a.m. EDT, October 30,2007
Sydney - Swiss logistics giant Kuehne + Nagel has been awarded a global contract by Gloria Jean's Coffees International, one of the world's leading specialty coffee franchisers, for the provision of integrated logistics solutions covering international transportation management, contract logistics and Customs brokerage.

In the initial phase, Kuehne + Nagel will provide dedicated warehouse space at its facility in Sydney which is in close proximity to the city's airport. Additional regional distribution hubs are planned in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and Jebel Ali in the United Arab Emirates this year and in Singapore by early next year.

Chris Muir, global supply chain manager of Gloria Jean's Coffees, said: "This long-term strategic partnership marks a significant milestone for our company from initially bringing the franchise to Australia in 1996, to buying out our US parent in 2004, and now managing franchise partners in 26 countries."
