Fresh Graduate¡¯s Perspectives
Fresh graduates participating in the survey are even less concerned about salary. They are mainly motivated to join a company if training and development (51%) is offered as well as career prospects (65%). Offering special training programs for graduates/young talents could thus be a way of better attracting this group of potential employees. Today¡¯s young talent has a different perspective on work and career compared to more senior employees. To remain attractive to young people joining the industry, employers have to identify what this important group of potential employees looks for in a company as "employer of choice".
Selection Process
More than 80% of employees say that the selection process, as part of the recruitment process, has a considerable influence on their decisions for or against a particular company. While the length of the process (from application to signing) is not identified as an important factor, other aspects, such as the atmosphere during interviews and the candidate¡¯s impression of the Hiring Manager, do influence potential employees¡¯ decisions. Furthermore, clarity on possible development within the company plays a major role.
As shown by Europhia¡¯s International Recruitment and Training Survey earlier this year, recruitment processes within many companies need to be improved to increase the ¡°employerbility¡± factor. How companies are perceived by candidates and young talent looking for their first/next career step is crucial in a tight labour market as talents decide for the best employers in the market. Companies can start by evaluating their recruitment processes and analyzing the impression given to potential employees during this process.
