BAX Global launches new US/ Canada service
POSTED: 9:40 a.m. EDT, July 17,2007

Bax Global and Schenker have launched a direct next day ground service between Newark, New Jersey and Toronto, Canada as a cheaper alternative to overnight air freight.

"Our strength of the existing ground freight department, working with BAX, will get shipments into Toronto and the Canadian market one day earlier," commented Scott Cairncross, vice president and National Product manager-Ground, for Schenker of Canada Ltd.

Prior to this new service, customers in the Newark area needing next day delivery to Toronto, sent their shipments via overnight air, which is more costly than ground service.

"By integrating the capabilities of Schenker of Canada we were able to enhance BAX's services to these areas. The new dedicated ground service is priced less than comparable overnight air shipments," said John Bastiani, vice president, Service & Network Operations for the Eastern Division at BAX Global.
