NDL/HIDC officially opens Hong Kong branch
POSTED: 8:47 a.m. EDT, September 12,2007
THE Holland International Distribution Council (NDL/HIDC), which represents the logistics sector in the Netherlands, has officially opened a branch in Hong Kong.

To coincide with the occasion, a seminar was organised by the NDL/HIDC to allow representatives of the Dutch and Asian logistics industries to exchange views on the future of global logistics to over 65 participants, and seek opportunities for European distribution.

Speaking at the seminar entitled, The Future of Global Logistics - European Scenarios from a Dutch Perspective, was NDL/HIDC president Dirk't Hooft, who said: "Due to its excellent connections to the world's major economic regions, the available logistics know-how, and attractive fiscal climate, the Netherlands remains an attractive location for European supply chain activities."

Han Feenstra, executive director for China of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency, added: "The Netherlands make an excellent base for so-called tax-effective supply chain management, allowing corporations to configure their supply chains in a manner that generates tax savings and minimise tax risks."

The non-profit NDL/HIDC represents around 500 companies and organisations in the Dutch logistics sector, and seeks to help international companies enter the European market through the Netherlands.
