Saudi Arabia surpasses Angolan oil sales to China in July

Saudi Arabia surpassed Angola in July as the biggest supplier of crude oil to China by selling 2.33 million tons, the Chinese General Customs Administration said in Beijing Wednesday.

Saudi Arabia, the world¨s largest oil producer, in July sold China some 548,677 barrels of oil per day, or 57 percent more than in the same period of last year.

Angola, the second largest supplier in July, sold 2.2 million tons of oil, or a year on year rise of 28 percent.

According to the General Customs Administration, Chinese imports of crude oil rose 39 percent in July.

Oman, Russia and Iran end the list of the five top oil suppliers to China in July having sold, 1.56 million, 1.27 million and 1.24 million tons respectively.

In the first seven months of the year, Saudi Arabia was also the biggest supplier of oil to China with sales that rose 6.8 percent to 14.32 million tons.
