Polish president meets with King of Saudi Arabia

Polish President Lech Kaczynski met here Monday with King of Saudi Arabia Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who started a two-day official visit to Poland on the same day.

The two leaders discussed international situation and that in the Middle East in particular, Polish PAP news agency reported.

Kaczynski and the Saudi king also discussed bilateral relations, including prospects of economic cooperation in such fields as energy.

Kaczynski said cooperation with the Arab Gulf countries and Saudi Arabia, in particular, are among priorities of Poland's foreign policy outside the Euro-Atlantic zone.

The two countries have signed agreements on scientific and technological cooperation and on cooperation in crime fighting.
