Yangtze Delta Customs Clearance reform spread to 12 Places

By the end of June, 2007, the influence of Yangtze Delta customs clearance reform had further spread to 12 provinces, autonomous regions and municpalities regions and cities, with as many as 628 companies having adopted the mode of ¡°direct declaration at the local customs for immediate clearance in the delta¡±.
¡¡¡¡It is learned the pilot reform on regional customs clearance started in the Yangtze Delta at the end of year 2005 includes two major contents: (1) streamlining and regularising transit transport monitor; and (2) direct declaration at the local customs for immediate clearance in coastal areas¡±. Currently, the reform has further spread to 12 provinces, regions and cities, including Jiangsu Province, Anhui Province, Jiangxi Province, Hunan Province, Hubei Province, Sichuan Province, Sha¡¯anxi Province, Henan Province, Ningxia region, Shanghai City and Chongqing city covering from east to west 13 customs areas.
¡¡¡¡According to feedback from 125 pilot companies in Zhejiang Province, the ¡°one-time declaration and one-time inspection¡± policy has raised clearance efficiency in the delta by 40% and lowered logistics cost by 20% on average.
