Suzhou Industrial Park's bonded cargo volumes rise 55pc
POSTED: 9:24 a.m. EDT, July 23,2007
During the first half of the year, the volume of cargo handled inside the Suzhou Industrial Park Bonded Logistics Centre surged by 55 per cent year on year to 471,000 tons, reports Logistics Week.

It said the value of the cargo totalled US$10.91 billion and for the first time breached the $10 billion mark, representing an increase of 40 per cent compared to the same period a year ago.

The strong growth in cargo volumes was attributed to a series of measures introduced by the Suzhou Industrial Park Bonded Logistics Centre to attract and promote business opportunities.

The measures include improving the management system, optimising workflows, enhancing efficiency, promoting vender-managed inventory and offering tailor-made customs clearance services.
