Namsung launches Nanjing/Xiamen-Japan services
POSTED: 8:41 a.m. EDT, July 12,2007
South Korea's Namsung Shipping plans to commence two container services from Nanjing and Xiamen to Japan via Pusan in August.

The Nanjing-Japan service will call at Nanjing port on Wednesdays and Sundays, while the Xiamen-Japan service will call at Xiamen port on Sundays.

With the two new services, cargo from Nanjing and Xiamen will be directly transported to Busan and then transited to ports in Japan, reducing transport time by three days, a company statement said.

Currently cargoes from Nanjing and Xiamen destined for Japan are transported via Shanghai by feeders and from there sent onwards to ports in Japan.
